couldn't find the guy to check in - taped a $10 note to his door - rode scared that he would chase me down for the first few hours - felt better when I got to a trail closed to cars; missed the Brush Mountain Lodge; got frustrated on a rocky descent where my brakes weren't working; wore black thermal arm warmers all day; Clark resupply had underwhelming food choices; met John Kieffer (Canadian); no shoulder pavement to Steamboat; went to a good (but expensive) restaurant in the Holiday Inn hotel
