didn't want to get out of tent in the AM; 3 hour climb to Chama; black smoke from the train scared me - thought it might be a forest fire; quinoa powerbowl from the Boxcar cafe was really good; went to Lowe's grocery to look for Gatorade; pavement stretch has some areas with no shoulder - especially near the beginning of the detour; skipped the Echo amphitheater campground to go closer; campground had shower
