Ar was turned on and pumped into the chamber for this experiment. Ar was pumped in at 25 psi for 15 minutes prior to turning on furnace and left on for the duration of the experiment, though at some point the Ar ran out and therefore stopped filling the chamger. During pre-heating the thermocouple was touching the pipe that feeds in the Ar giving an inaccurate reading of the temperature inside the tube. In an effort to move the thermocouple away from the Ar inlet, the alumina tube holding the sample broke, causing both Ar leak and heat leaks from the system. The system was held in steady state at a temperature of 650 C for 4 hours despite this.
